Certifications

Bouty has earned the following certifications:

The GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality® and GreenGuard Children & Schools® certifications for all of its products to facilitate LEED recognition. The third party organization, GreenGuard Environment Institute, is dedicated to health protection through the improvement of air quality, in part, by reducing exposure to noxious chemical products and pollutants. GreenGuard’s Indoor Air Quality certification requires that noxious emissions from a certified product do not exceed strict maximum levels and GreenGuard Children & Schools certification ensures the same emissions are kept at even lower levels in schools, day-care centres and other places where children spend the most time.

The CAN/CGSB 44.232-2002 standard was established by the Canadian General Standards Board and lays out the dimensional and adjustment requirements set to meet the expected needs of the 5th to 95th percentile of adult office employees working in a seated position.

The ANSI/BIFMA X 5.1-2003 standard was established by the American National Standards Institute and requires that office chairs undergo rigorous resistance, solidity and safety testing. The majority of Bouty products have undergone such testing.

Bouty’s quality management system has had ISO 9001 certification since 1996. These standards establish the organizational requirements for quality management systems in four main areas: responsibility management, quality monitoring, continual improvement processes.

Bouty’s environmental management system has had ISO 14001 certification since 2007. This certification ensures that the environmental management system complies with the ISO14001 standards when documenting, implementing, maintaining and improving an environmental management system.

Bouty’s commitment to standards 9001 and 14001 can be summarized as follows:
